Is Orca Universe delivering releases to streaming services today?

Accepted Answer

No. Release submission, catalogue management and delivery tracking are real features, but the delivery itself is simulated inside the app and labelled as a prototype. We do not claim a relationship with any streaming service.

Are the royalty numbers real earnings?

Accepted Answer

No. The royalty calculator is a modelling tool. You supply stream and download volumes and rate assumptions, and it computes the outcome of your splits and fees. It is not a royalty statement and does not connect to payment reporting.

What is Orca Commons?

Accepted Answer

Orca Commons is the public-domain and openly licensed music library inside Orca Universe. It holds recordings whose composition rights and recording rights have each been documented, with source links, territory scope and verification notes.

Why are composition and recording listed separately?

Accepted Answer

Because they are separate rights. A composition in the public domain says nothing about the copyright status of a particular recording of it, which has its own term, territory rules and owner. We store two rights records per track so neither is inferred from the other.

Why is the Commons library empty?

Accepted Answer

By design. We do not seed the library with invented recordings or unverified public-domain claims. Records are created, rights-verified and published through the library administration and rights verification queue.

Do label service orders charge my card?

Accepted Answer

No. Ordering creates a real order record and a simulated payment record so the workflow can be tested end to end. Nothing is charged and no payment provider is connected.

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

Not in this prototype. The workspace and admin areas are open so the full flow can be reviewed. Roles — visitor, artist, label, curator and administrator — already exist in the data model and will gate access when authentication is switched on.

Can I use tracks from Orca Commons commercially?

Only where the record says so. Each track carries a commercial-use status and attribution requirements per rights object. Where a status is pending or unclear, treat the recording as unavailable for reuse.
